Hi Stuart – apologies I missed this until now.

Unfortunately we’re not able to receive customers at our warehouse. We don’t have a physical shop as such, just an office and a warehouse so there’s not really space for someone to try something on. Sorry about that.

We can arrange for customers to collect orders though, and we’re more than happy to help you find a kilt that fits. If you give us a call on 0131 669 1487 we can talk you through the sizing of all our items, and we also have an online measuring guide here.

This writer is doing a prodigious bit o’ work in buying his 1st Commerical Kilt. The MacDonald employee named Rachel was/is most kind & helpful, espc. when I brought up the subject of a Kingussie Pleating for my kilt. So readers, does anyone have any other tidbits-aside from the Kingussie Folk Museum & The Tartan Museum(USA) on this pre-modern method of kilting a tartan?

Well, really not 100% sure, but the overall size, location, wing length/width ratio and wing length/tail ratio suggest Red Kite. Other possibilty is Hen harrier, but unlikely in that location !
